Introducing My Character, Patrycia Willowbranch

Name:
Patrycia Willowbranch

Age:
19-ish

Race:
Half - Imperial / Half - Nord

Home:
A small cabin outside of Winterhold

Family:
Her family consists of her mother, father, and younger brother, all who remain living in the small cabin outside of Winterhold.  Her father is a traveling merchant who caters to the refine tastes of the students and teachers at the College of Winterhold, so he is gone many days of the year, leaving her mother, a weaver, alone to take care of home and children.  Life around the fallen city is a difficult one but her family is stubborn and will not leave the area.

Description:
Patrycia has always loved to sing.  Her talent at remembering and singing any song she heard was discovered at the young age of three, when she repeated a risque sea shanty she heard while standing outside the local pub, waiting for her mother to finish selling her wares to a woman.  After that, her mother made sure to leave her with a neighbor whenever she traveled into town.

Patrycia skills developed over the years, helped by her mother's perfect pitch ear and her father constantly feeding her new material he picked up or heard in his travels.  It wasn't long before she was singing in the local pub for tips and though her mother didn't like the idea, she did enjoy the extra food it brought to their table.

It wasn't long before Patrycia's talents were discovered.  As she was leaving the pub one night, a stranger, a traveler, approached her.  He introduced himself as Giraud Gemane, an instructor at the Bard's College in Solitude.  He commented that she had real talent, more talent than a small backwaters pub deserved.  He suggested that she enroll in the college, where she could hone her skills.  "With your talent and a lot of hard work, you could be singing in the Blue Palace some day."

Though her mother was against the idea, her father agreed that she could go.  It wasn't long before the day came for her to head off to her future life in Solitude.  She hugged her mother and brother hard before climbing into the wagon beside her father.  As they drove away, she waved goodbye to her little family, wondering if that would be the last time she'd ever see them....

One Personal Item She Would NEVER Leave Behind:
  • Her father's knapsack - He gave her the bag at the docks of Windhelm right before she climbed aboard her ship to Solitude. "It may look like an old, beaten bag," her father told her, "but it's very special so take care of it and make sure it never leaves your side."  "What's so special about it, Pa?" "You'll find out," he said with a wink, "You'll find out."
